Allina Medical Clinic
We know you, you know us
We ask you to select a primary care provider (PCP) because your PCP knows you and your medical needs over time and guides your over all medical care. When you develop an ongoing relationship with a provider, you can openly discuss all the things that could affect your health – from family history to your lifestyle habits and beliefs. We want you to have a primary care provider you can trust and who is right for you and your family. It’s better for you and your health.
Do you have a primary care provider?
Ask the receptionist if a specific primary care provider is listed in your clinic records. If not, we can give you information about providers at our clinic so you can select a PCP. Often the provider from your last visit may be listed as your PCP. If so, you can keep that provider or change your primary care provider whenever you wish. Make sure you know the name of your PCP. It will save you time when you schedule your next appointment.

Choosing a primary care provider is better for you
Better when you’re sick
Whenever you have a health problem, you’ll feel better just knowing who to call. Because your primary care provider (PCP) knows you and your medical history, it will be easier to get the care you need when you want it. And if you need to see a specialist, your PCP can refer you to qualified physicians they know and trust.
Better when you’re well
It’s better to choose a primary care provider when all is well so you won’t have to make a hasty decision when you need immediate care. And because your primary care provider knows you, he or she can advise you about ways to maintain good health.
Better for your health
We’d like to keep you from getting sick. As part of regular preventive care, a PCP helps keep you healthy by screening for health problems and treating them in the earliest stages.
Better for your schedule
You can call anytime - day or night – and we’ll make every effort to schedule your appointment with the PCP you have selected. It’s better to see your primary care provider whenever possible, but our providers work together to be sure that you can come to the clinic at a time that’s best for you.
